AeroCraft

AeroCraft is one of the few companies on the international market that have been producing reliable mini and micro wind energy plants for a long time. It is the only company in Europe that industrially produces systems under 1 kW.

The company history goes back to the 80s, when we were mainly building electric motors. AeroCraft in its present form was founded in 1995. We have installed hundreds of wind energy plants all over the world. Close cooperation with our customers and analysis of their feedback ensure permanent improvement and development.

Wind energy corresponds to the seasons, providing the highest yield in winter and the lowest yield in summer, while solar energy works the other way round. These two forms of natural energy, can be ideally combined in a hybrid plant.

AeroCraft wind energy plants are based on a horizontal axle, similar to a propeller. They consist of rotor/generator, frame/azimuth bearing and a wind vane. The rotor blades are made of fibreglass strengthened raisin (GFK) because this material provides the necessary stability, as well as flexibility and low weight and it does not interfere with HF signals (radio, TV). Permanent magnet generators are high-performance, even though they are small and light as they work with stator windings only. Directly powered generators are robust and safe as there is no need for a gear and shaft assembly or belt drive. The wind vane keeps the rotor in the wind and is conceived as part of the storm safeguard elements.

The mast is an indispensable part of a complete wind energy plant. Turbulences decrease with increasing height, while wind force increases with height.

In our experience, a mast of 10 to 12 m height, is sufficient for a mini and micro wind energy plant up to 1kW. The AeroCraft mast consists of modular elements. The mast is braced via stays, it is climbable and the foot unit is foldable.

Wind energy plants are ideal for locations that have no access to public electricity. Contrary to photovoltaic systems, where the cost per watt is more or less independent of the size of the unit, the cost per watt with wind energy plants decreases significantly, the bigger the unit. The cost of the peripheral technology such as electronics, cabling, batteries and mechanics are comparable. The mast of a wind energy plant is no more expensive than frame and mounting elements of photovoltaic units.

There has been a tremendous increase in the reliability of wind energy plants, including the mini and micro versions. Running costs are comparable.

AeroCraft wind energy plants with a performance of 100 to 1000 W are installed for the following purposes:

professional plants, i.e. offshore or along motorways,
holiday cottages, mountain huts and sheds
telecommunication, collection and transmission of traffic data
in private homes for the generation of electricity, and/or support for the heating system.

And they are renowned for their longevity and reliability. They impress through their design, their brilliant performance at medium wind speeds and low noise level when running. They are designed for easy installing and can practically be put up anywhere.
